Unbelievable, 1940s floral silk dress and pants ensemble with an extra long sash. Dress features crossover style with hook and eye closures, drop shoulder with short dolman sleeves, draped waterfall detail from waist. Pants feature metal zip fly and hip pockets. The entire piece is hand-finished and expertly draped with no lining. So slinky, so incredibly beautiful and versatile. Truly one of the best 40s prints and designs we’ve ever seen—it comes from an important collection in Philadelphia.

condition: Very good to excellent vintage condition. Remarkable for age. No tears or repairs, extremely supple and silk material. There is an even patina on the creme trim and white flowers, two small pinholes at the back of the neck, and a small patch of adhesive (?) under the left arm. Not visible when worn and does not detract. This is a museum quality piece.
