We’re pleased to present our latest collection of hand-painted archival vintage pieces as part of our ongoing series. In collaboration with Philadelphia-based artist Shannon Retseck, who developed this modern, painterly take on historical decorative motifs, we’ve reimagined some of our most treasured vintage items, giving them new life to truly spectacular effect.

These 1940s navy-issue sailor pants are historically flattering in a perfectly soft and perfectly weighted cotton. Super high waist, 5 button fly, fitted hip with wide stovepipe leg silhouette. Shannon has reimagined them in her now signature painterly checkerboard pattern making them into an imminently wearable statement piece.

Note: These are vintage items that have been meticulously hand-painted, with the artist considering every square-inch of the textile, as well as being professionally cleaned. So while they are in excellent, refurbished condition, they are not new and may feature slight “imperfections” that add to the uniqueness of the item.
