Hand-Painted 1980s Chartreuse Silk Suit
Hand-Painted 1980s Chartreuse Silk Suit
We’re pleased to present our latest collection of hand-painted archival vintage pieces as part of our ongoing series. In collaboration with Philadelphia-based artist Shannon Retseck, who developed this modern, painterly take on historical tile motifs, we’ve reimagined some of our most treasured vintage items, giving them new life to truly spectacular effect.
This 1980s “Street Culture” chartreuse silk double breasted suit has been hand-painted by Retseck with her signature dye-paint, which creates a smooth finish to the hand of the textile. Every detail has been considered and elevates an already beautiful, finely crafted garment to the level of fine art and a modern heirloom.
The suit features classic menswear-style double breasted jacket with white mother of pearl buttons and a pair of loose pull of trousers with hip pockets and full lining. Both pieces have been painted with care so that they can be worn separately or together.

Note: These are vintage items that have been meticulously hand-painted, with the artist considering every square-inch of the textile, as well as being professionally cleaned. So while they are in excellent, refurbished condition, they are not new and may feature slight “imperfections” that add to the uniqueness of the item.
